In a more IT-related or younger business (meaning medium age of employees) it could be good with more choice as the knowledge is often very mature of the choices to be made. Some people get confused by too much choice, but my view is that most of the people I support in IT are smarter and more educated than I am so they should be able to apply some of that to one of today's core competencies for employees (ie using a computer).
